Rockridge Investment Partners is founded on the principals of value investing. We seek to buy parts of companies for substantially less than our assessment of intrinsic value. As opposed to traditional value investors who buy assets for less than perceived liquidating value, we buy based on discounts to the value of the business. We believe that intrinsic value is determined by cash flow and that, over time, stock prices tend to reflect the value of the underlying business.
We focus on high quality growing businesses, and intend on owning them for the long-term. We are part-owners of businesses, not traders of certificates. As long-term investors operating in a sea of short-term traders, we seek to capitalize on dramatic declines in the prices of high-quality growing businesses when caused by short-term issues that do not impact the long-term potential of the business.
In word and deed, we are a partnership. The vast majority of the General Partner's net worth is invested in the Partnership. Our goal is to compound those assets at the highest rate prudently possible, a goal serving all of us. Our priority is to grow the Partnership by compounding existing assets, not raising more. Rockridge Investment Partners is an investment vehicle, not a marketing machine.
